![]() NLS and C6 it is then, thanks! One more opinion before you pull the trigger.apologies for wasted words if this is too late. I am all mojoe'd up and have saved a fortune - thanks Waves.īeware announce that it will end soon. The Kramer and J37 I A/B'd to death - sound different in different circumstances but really they are both excellent emulations of mastering machines, so really do the same job - pick whatever animation you prefer ! The Abbey Road RS56 is very sweet, and go for one of the tape emulators maybe. The API 2500 is a bus compressor that many like and I agree - never got on with the glue or SSL types. Of course I thought, mmmm cheap Waves, I ought to try some of these - and like crack, kept going back for more.Īnyhow I chime with most here that the 'character' or 'mojo' things are worth the money at these prices. I was stupid enough not to notice that the bundle offer applied to any plug ins, the more you get, the even cheaper they become if you get them in one transaction. There just wasn't enough difference for me to justify buying the Chandler. Although I loved the Chandler, I was generally able to match it with the RS56. The other day, I spent a few hours doing A/B tests with it and the new UAD Chandler unit. Cool delay, too.įinally, the Waves Curve Bender is a blast. Of course, it can be grungy as hell, if you want that. Back off the flux, use a high bias/moderate input level and you'll be surprised how sweet it can sound. I have the NI 160, but it's a distant third. Used (and loved) the UAD version for years, but this one gets even closer to the real thing. The dbx160 is, in my opinion, the best version out there. For me, NLS generally gets the nod over VCC. The latter, in particular, offer tons of vibe. I highly recommend NLS, API and the TG12345/REDD plugs. It's a very intuitive GUI.īoth of these were discounted so heavily that I didn't even bother to demo them. I like the asymmetrical curves on the Hybrid EQ, along with the RTA and compound displays. I have the UAD and Slate 'verbs, as well, but still feel the Hybrid will find a place in my projects. The sound is spectacular and it's incredibly versatile. I already have many of the Waves offerings, but Greg Wells' demo really sold me on the reverb. ![]()
